Women’s Manifesto organized Women’s Summit under the sponsorship of Human Welfare Foundation. Ms. Fraheen Malick, member of Delhi Commission for Women inaugurated the program. “Delhi Commission for Women plays a major role for the betterment of the existing condition of women. But the women have to utilize the services availed like 181 helpline.” She said while delivering key note address in Women’s Summit held at The Scholar School, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi on 17 th April 2016. Hakim (Mrs.) Ummul Fazal, former director of CCURM was the guest of honor. She emphasized the need for implementation of the research based health system in the community level. Hasrat Ali , Crime against Women Cell also attended the program. The formal session was initiated by the welcome address of Ms. Umme Fatima. Ms.Shabnam Saifi, introduced about the organizers and the theme “women entrepreneurship”. Women’s Manifesto’s General Secretary Mrs. Sharnas Muthu, Executive Member Shabeena and, People’s Foundation Trustee Mrs. Rahmatunnisa presented memento to guests.
The program followed by the demonstration of self defense training by the trainers of Crime against Women Cell of Delhi Police and first aid training of Dr. Hamna from AIIMS.
Different stalls put up in the event giving importance to the theme of the summit include stalls of handicrafts, paper craft, painting, food corner, mehendi art. Free career guidance, counseling and legal aid provided in the program. DNiP stall introduced about its function and the free clinic running in the Abul Fazal. Alshifa Hospital conducted free medical checkup and provided free medicine to poor patients. Women’s Manifesto and Human Welfare Foundation stalls were arranged exhibit their activities. Students of different schools presented their cultural programs.
Around 300 women from different states who are residing in Delhi for their study/job purpose took part in this event. Eminent personalities like Dr. Inthizar Khan JMI, Dr.Divya JMI, Bushra Alvi, Freeland journalist, Dr.Shagun Chahal, Dr. C N Bhargavi, Sakeena Arshi, Principal Little Wonder School etc were among the audience. Some of the participants showed their interest in organising such events at their villages.
The program ended with the vote of thanks of Sayema Zafar, Neighborhood people visited and availed services of various stalls. Women’s Manifesto Executive Members Sana Parveen and Majida coordinated program and stall respectively.
